Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions of the MP3-Tag Generator.

Q: I just install the MP3-Tag Generator and it don't run. This is the error message :
=========================================
429
MP3TagGenerator
The Initialization of MSXML3 Failed
Please Make Sure That MSXML3 is Installed and Working
ActiveX Component Can't Create Object
=========================================

A: You haven't installed the MSXML 3 parser. The program won't run without it.
You can download it in the download section. Please be aware that the MSXML setup only runs if you have the windows installer on your machine. You can also download it in the download section.

Q: When I try to run MP3TagGenerator.exe version the following appears in the log (err_MP3TagGenerator.log):
"CMain::Class_Initialize, MP3TagGenerator - ActiveX component can't create object"

When I run MP3-Tag Generator Installation Check V1.0.7:
"Microsoft Scripting Library ... Unable to locate the component"

How do I fix that problem?

A: You get this error when the activex-dll 'scrrun.dll' is not properly installed or missing.
It can be downloaded from the following location: http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/vbscript/scripting.asp

Q: When I run the installation on Windows Me I receive the following error message:
Setup cannot continue because some system files are out of date on your system. Click OK if you would like setup to update these files for you now. You will need to restart Windows before you can run setup again. Click cancel to exit setup without updating system files.
After Windows Me restarts and I begin the installation again, I receive the error message again.
What can I do?

A: Use the latest version or apply the installation patch available for Windows Me.

Q: When I run the installation checker V1.0.7, it only shows version information of the first four components. For the others it shows "Unable to retrieve Version". What's wrong?

A: This is normal when running the Installation Checker on Windows Me. The important thing is that you get a checkmark for every component.

Q: If I change the icon of a folder by using a Desktop.ini file, the folder is not listed.

A: If you use a Desktop.ini file to customize a folder, the folder will have the system flag set to true.  MP3-Tag Generator is not showing system folders by default. You can configure MP3-Tag Generator to show system folders if you use a version later 1.0.8.
